写真家・映像作家。京都を拠点に、作品制作を行なっています。
写真は、選んだというより、たどり着いたという感覚に近いです。もともとは音楽をやっていて、今も細々と続けています。写真を選んだのは、音楽をやっていたときの言葉と、写真の現場で交わされる言葉が、よく似ていたからかもしれません。このへんが少し寂しい、ここは少しうるさい。
自分の作品として撮っているものは、長く残らないものが多いのかもしれません。水面に浮かんでは消える泡。カメラを動かしたときに現れる光の筋。遠い場所へ行ったときの断片。そういった、些細なもの。
人を撮るときも、似たようなことをしているのかもしれません。ポーズを決めてもらうというより、一瞬だけ風が吹くのを待っているような感じです。
このサイトは、2023年に開いた個展「Temporary Things」を、視覚的に再現したような形になっています。10年分のアーカイブを、浮かんでは消える泡のように、大きさも配置もばらばらにして並べた展示でした。

I didn’t so much choose photography as end up in it. I came from music, and still play a little. Perhaps I chose photography because the words used on set sounded like the ones I already knew — this part feels a little lonely, this corner is a bit noisy.
What I make as my own work tends not to last long. Bubbles surfacing and vanishing on water. Streaks of light that appear when the camera moves. Fragments brought back from somewhere far away. Small things like that.
Photographing people may be a version of the same thing. Rather than setting a pose, I wait — as if for a moment of wind.
This site is something like a visual reconstruction of Temporary Things, the solo exhibition I held in 2023: ten years of archive images laid out at scattered sizes and positions, like bubbles rising and disappearing.
